A carbon steel dish end is a curved cap used to close off the end of a pressure vessel or tank. It is a vital component in industries that handle liquids or gases under pressure. Astec Tubes is a well known carbon steel dished end manufacturer in different shapes and sizes to match customer needs. We supply these to sectors like oil and gas, chemical processing, energy and water treatment. We offer products that meet international standards and deliver safety, durability and long service life.
We offer three types of carbon steel dished ends: torispherical, semi ellipsoidal, and hemispherical. The torispherical is commonly referred to as a tori head, is the shallowest and simplest to shape. The semi ellipsoidal type, also known as a semi or elliptical head it increases its pressure-handling capacity. While using more material and taking longer to form, it offers better strength than torispherical heads. The hemispherical head has the lowest dish depth and highest internal pressure capacity. It is widely applied in pressure vessels and reactors that work under harsh conditions. Although it is costly to manufacture, it is the most effective and trustworthy solution where safety matters.
