Forged fittings
are the type of pipe fittings
which are developed with the forging process and
proper welding. However, they are
well known for their small diameter size of the
fittings which are mostly used in
the plumbing system. On the other hand, the
forged fittings are having good
corrosion resistance property because of the
alloy steel present in them. Other than
this, they are available in threaded and socket
weld fittings. The forged fitting
types are the same as that of pipe fittings like
elbows, tees, couplings, plugs, and
others.
With the presence of the alloy steel in manufactured
forged fittings, the Alloy
Steel Forged Fittings are having
many characteristics. However, this is
because there are many elements that are
inherited in alloy steel. Thus, the
presence of carbon contents the forged fittings
are having corrosion resistance,
crevice corrosion resistance, and pitting
corrosion resistance. On the other hand,
the forged fittings are having many other
properties with the presence of the other
alloying elements. Some of the forged fittings
which are there in the fittings are
great toughness, high tensile strength, great
weldability, machinability, and
stability in the elevated temperatures.
