What is the Inconel 600?

Inconel 600 is a chromium-nickel alloy designed for use at temperatures below 2000 degrees Fahrenheit and with low cryogenic levels. The alloy is resistant to the lower environment as well as chloride stress corrosion cracking due to its resistance to chromium-nickel and mild oxidation conditions. Inconel 600 is a non-magnetic reinforcing alloy having outstanding mechanical capabilities at cryogenic and high temperatures because of its high nickel concentration. Resistance to Corrosion

Heat-treating the alloy

When INCONEL alloy 600 is produced for use in the nuclear power industry, bubble towers, evaporator tubes, heaters, tube sheets, stills, cathode-ray tube spiders, and other items made of it are common in the chemical industry. Due to its corrosion resistance, it helps flake trays for the synthesis of sodium sulfide as well as equipment for handling abietic acid in the creation of paper pulp.
