Titanium is one of the important structural metals. As compared to other metal materials, titanium valves have two main properties \u2013 good corrosion resistance and high specific strength.<\/p>\n

The important thing to be considered for valve materials is not the mechanical properties, but the corrosion resistance of the material. Therefore, titanium has become one of the indispensable valve materials, and you can find many kinds of titanium valves<\/a> in the market today.<\/p>\n

What are the properties of Titanium Valves?<\/h2>\n

Before going further with the plethora of properties, let\u2019s understand why titanium metal has excellent corrosion resistant property.<\/p>\n

Titanium is very active in chemical properties and easily reacts with oxygen in the air forming a dense oxide film on the surface. This layer of the oxide film is extremely stable and hence difficult to dissolve. It resists the corrosion of a number of corrosive media and for stainless steel, copper, or aluminum valves it can solve the corrosion issue that is difficult to solve. This is the main reason why titanium is excellent in corrosion resistance.<\/p>\n

Titanium valves also have many other properties such as:<\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>They have both high mechanical strength and good corrosion resistance and are lightweight.<\/p>\n

  1. Titanium valves are hardly corroded in the freshwater, atmosphere, seawater, and high-temperature water vapor.<\/li>\n
  2. These titanium valves have good corrosion resistance in hypochlorous acid, aqua regia, wet chlorine, chlorine water, and other media.<\/li>\n
  3. They are as well extremely resistant to corrosion in alkaline media.<\/li>\n
  4. Titanium valves possess a very strong anti-chloride ion (CI) ability and have an exceptional anti-chloride ion corrosion resistance.<\/li>\n
  5. Titanium valve\u2019s corrosion resistance in organic acids depends on the reduction or oxidizing properties of the acid.<\/li>\n
  6. In acid reduction, the corrosion resistance of titanium valves depends on whether the medium has corrosion inhibitors.<\/li>\n
  7. Titanium has a high melting point of 3135 degrees F which is one of the best properties of Titanium. It is above 400 degrees F for steel and about 2000 degrees F above the aluminum melting point.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
